GFA'S ON VARIOUS CONFIGURATIONS OF PISTOLS

GEN 123 GFA / GEN 4/5 GFA ON SF FRAME /

GEN 123SC OVER GEN 4/5 OEM MEDIUM GRIP PANEL

INSTALLATION: GRIP FORCE ADAPTER PACKAGES

GEN 4/5 & GEN 123SC

The GEN 4/5 & GEN 123SC package contains the following Adapters (See Image to the Left)

The GEN 4/5 & GEN 123SC package has slightly different installation procedures.

See installation video links associated with each package description.

These packages were initially designated GEN 4, coming in both Black and Flat Dark Earth (FDE). They are now designated GEN 4/5 - GEN 123SC. The package contains a GEN4/5 Adapter that fits the GEN 4 and GEN 5 pistols in their SF Frame configuration. That configuration means no factory grip panels are installed on the receiver. The package also contains a GEN 123SC Adapter, which (with some customization) can be utilized on all Generations of Glock pistols.

Our GEN 4/5 Adapter has ridges on the grip tang area to visually differentiate it from our GEN 123SC (Smooth/Contoured) Adapter. For the GEN 4/5 Adapter, after the retention pin is installed, the end user must sand the ends of the pin down until they are flush with the outside edges of the Adapter. That process is featured in this video featuring Bill Rogers.

The other Adapter that comes in the package is the GEN 123SC. That Adapter can be utilized on Glock pistols in several different ways, depending on the Generation of the pistol.

The GEN 123SC Adapter can be used (as is) on Generation 1, 2, or 3 Glock pistols. For that, follow the installation process as detailed in this video.

The GEN 123SC Adapter can be used on GEN 4 or GEN 5 pistols with some customization. If the GEN 4/5 Adapter is installed on the SF Frame of either a GEN 4 or GEN 5 pistol, you must use some support material underneath the Adapter.

We recommend using Removable/Peelable RTV Silicone underneath the part to fill in the space between the underside of the 123SC Adapter and the SF frame of the GEN 4 or GEN 5 receiver.

The grip circumference of the GEN 1, 2, or 3 Glock pistol is larger than the SF Frame configuration of the GEN 4 or GEN 5 Glock pistol. The grip size of the SF Frame is approximately 2mm shorter (front to back) than the GEN 1, 2, or 3 pistols.

When the GEN 123SC Adapter is on the SF Frame, there is a 2mm gap between the upper back strap area of the pistol receiver and the underside of the GEN 123SC Adapter. That gap could not be prevented simply due to the design differences between prior Generation pistols and the GEN 4 or GEN 5 SF Frames.

There will be too much inward flex in the GEN 123SC Adapter if mounted on an SF Frame without any support material underneath it. This flex will eventually break the retention pin.

We recommend using Removable/Peelable RTV Silicone adhesive on the Adapter. That will fill in the gap between the back strap of the SF Frame and the underside of the Adapter and mold the Adapter to the back of the receiver.

Using the Removable/Peelable RTV Silicone will let you remove the Adapter and the silicone from the receiver.

The following Removable/Peelable RTV Silicone products can be used:

Follow the Install instructions for the Semi-Permanent/Hard Duty Use Video:

*Using a GEN 123SC Adapter on the SF Frame of the GEN 4 or GEN 5, along with Removable/Peelable RTV silicone, makes the pistol index on target like a 1911 pistol. It offers the most upright grip angle of all GRIP FORCE ADAPTER/Glock receiver combinations.

Large/Upright Grip Configuration - GEN 123SC Adapter:

The GEN 123SC Adapter can be used over the Medium Glock OEM (Non-beavertail) factory grip panel. To do this, you must remove a small amount of material from the horizontal ribs on the underside of the GEN 123SC Adapter.

The following video demonstrates how to modify the underside of the GEN 123SC Adapter for its use over the top of the Medium-sized (Non-beavertail) factory grip panel.

Per the factory-provided instructions, install the Medium-sized Glock OEM (Non-beavertail) grip panel on the pistol using the GRIP FORCE Extended Retention Pin. After that is completed, along with modifying the underside of the GEN 123SC Adapter, install the Adapter over top of the factory Medium grip panel. That installation will be similar to the manner shown in the GEN 123 Installation video.

This pistol/Adapter combination will provide an excellent grip configuration for end users who prefer a slightly larger grip size and an upright grip angle. It will fit those with Medium, Large, and Extra-Large hand sizes.

The above installation options demonstrate the versatility of our GEN 4/5 - GEN 123SC Grip Adapter packages.

RTV SILICONE SEMI-PERMANENT INSTALLATION

GEN 123 AND GEN 123SC ADAPTER INSTALLATION ON GEN 4/5 PISTOL IN ITS SF FRAME CONFIGURATION

(WITH NO FACTORY GRIP PANEL INSTALLED ON THE RECEIVER)

1. Work in a well-ventilated area and use disposable rubber gloves.

2. Follow the above listed steps for installing a Grip Adapter.

3. Use the RTV Silicone Adhesive (sold separately) Avoid getting any adhesive in or near the retention pinhole area of the Grip Adapter or the pistol frame/receiver. Apply a bead of silicone adhesive to the primary contact areas of the Grip Adapter and proceed with the final steps of the install procedure as listed above.

4. Once the Grip Adapter is installed, using the fingertip of your gloved hand, wipe off any excess silicone adhesive that presses out from between the Grip Adapter and the pistol frame/receiver.

If needed, a rubber band can be applied to the lower section of the Grip Adapter to secure it tightly up against the middle to lower section of the back strap of the pistol.

This will secure the Grip Adapter up in its proper position and assure that the beavertail section of the Grip Adapter will be correctly positioned on the pistol. This will also allow the RTV Silicone Adhesive to properly fill any gaps between the Grip Adapter Beavertail, and the pistol.

SPECIFIC INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR GEN 4 GRIP FORCE ADAPTER (THIS CAN ALSO BE DONE ON A GEN 123 ADAPTER)

1. If you are considering semi-permanent installation (as described above), complete that installation process before contouring the retention pin for the GEN 4 Adapter.

2. To install the GEN 4 Adapter, follow the above listed steps.

3. Having installed the GEN 4 Adapter, it is recommended to take a small emery board/nail file and contour the ends of the retention pin, on an angle, flush with the outside edged of the Grip Adapter.

Once the ends of the pin are properly contoured, they will follow the outside radius of the Grip Adapter pinhole area. This will properly fit the retention pin to the GEN 4 Adapter. This step is necessary due to the length of the retention pin and the difference in width between the Grip Adapters.
